However, just 25 minutes east of Puerto Plata international airport is the north coast's best kept secret: The international village of Cabarete – the adventure and fun capital of the Caribbean. Unlike the "prisons"; of the all inclusive resorts in Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, La Romana, Playa Dorada etc. Cabarete Bay has recently become known as the Caribbean's free spirit vacation destination where there is indeed something for everyone from all parts of the world. Once you are in town choose from one many oceanfront restaurants or bars, or just chill at a coffee shop while you soak in the wonderful culture of this unique village and it's friendly and welcoming people.
